After two years of serving craft brews and bites to the north Scottsdale neighborhood, Fate Brewing Company is ready to expand. According to a post on the brewery’s Facebook page, Fate Brewing Company plans to open a an even larger second location in south Scottsdale sometime next year.

Owner and brewmaster Steve McFate opened the brewpub and pizzeria at 7337 East Shea Boulevard in fall of 2012. The brewery has made a name for itself with both limited-quantity (only five gallons on tap at a time) brews and solid standbys such as its flagship Irish Red.

The second location of Fate Brewery will be located at 1312 North Scottsdale Road, on the west side of Scottsdale road south of McDowell. The existing building, which used to be a buffet restaurant, will be gutted to make room for the brewery and restaurant.

There are plans for a “beer garden, outdoor pavilion, plus a super-cool (literally) 800 square foot barrel cellar,” according to the post. The second location will also be able to offer an expanded food menu.

Fate North (the original location) will “continue to focus on unique and funky small batch beers,” while the second location will allow the brewery to “expand brewing capacity of crowd favorites.”

Fate Brewing Company expects to open the second location in late spring.
